Post: Project Engineer
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Purpose: To carry out duties in support of the delivery of ACWA Projects.
MAIN DUTIES:
- You will be expected to Assist the Project Managers with the day-to-day management and delivery of ACWA projects safely, on time and within budget whilst ensuring we deliver a quality service and ensuring good customer satisfaction.
- You will be expected to work in line with the business QA system with a focus on continuous improvement of the company, products and services.
- Ensuring that Quality Standards are met by our suppliers and subcontractors in the delivery of ACWA projects.
- Ensure that projects are delivered in line with company procedures and policies.
- To create and maintain effective communications between all internal resource, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Take initiative to identify and deal with problems.
- Assist the project manager in resolution of any contractual matters or complications and ensure that the appropriate action is taken which does not compromise or expose ACWA to unnecessary risk.
- Assist the project manager and procurement team with the preparation of purchase orders subcontract documents for equipment, plant and labour for various projects ensuring these are delivered within budget.
- Assist the project manager with the co-ordination of design and procurement activities.
- Assist the project manager and engineering team as required with the preparation of equipment specifications.
- Ensure that accurate project records and systems are maintained up to date in line with the quality procedures.
- Assist with the production of O & M manuals.
- Assist with the site teams with the preparation of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Management and coordination of sub-contractors.
- Assist the project manager and procurement team with the vetting of subcontractors.
- Undertake the expediting of supplier orders and subcontract works packages.
- Undertake inspection visits to supplier’s premises to monitor progress in line with the project programme along with undertaking quality checks to ensure compliance to ACWA requirements.
- Assist the project manager with the preparation of project programmes and reporting.
- Undertake supplier document review.
- Supporting the project manager with client progress reviews.
- Supporting the project manager at HAZOP meetings.
- Site support, remote or at site to ensure safe and efficient site activities.
- Assist in site surveys as required.
- Support commissioning and site maintenance teams in fault finding.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A formal Engineering or project management qualification preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of British Standards, water industry specification preferred, process industry design.
- Usage of Document Management Systems.
- A good knowledge of materials, coatings and finishes including stainless and carbon steels, structural steels, elastomers and performance plastics.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes; machining, welding, surface treatments etc.
- Be able to communicate effectively regarding matters of a technical nature to customers.
- Full UK driving license.
- CSCS card desirable but not essential.

Completer/Finisher – Proven track record of closing out project outputs.
Team Player – Willing to contribute to and support the wider project delivery and management team.
