ACWA | Nuvoda: bringing innovative wastewater treatment to the UK

We’re proud to be working with Mott MacDonald Bentley | MMB to bring the Mobile Organic Biofilm (MOB™) technology to United Utilities’ Warrington South wastewater treatment works, supporting a £17 million upgrade to improve water quality in the Manchester Ship Canal.

ACWA is Nuvoda’s UK delivery partner for MOB™ technology, combining our wastewater treatment expertise with Nuvoda’s innovative biological process to deliver practical solutions for the UK water industry.

Working alongside MMB, we’re integrating MOB™ into the Warrington South upgrade, bringing together specialist process expertise and project delivery to achieve lasting improvements in wastewater treatment.

Warrington South is among the first UK sites to integrate MOB™ technology, with the new system designed to treat approximately 150 litres of wastewater per second, improving treatment performance and increasing capacity.

MOB™ uses renewable, plant-based media to support naturally occurring bacteria that break down pollutants. It offers a sustainable approach to enhancing biological treatment and increasing capacity within existing treatment infrastructure.

For ACWA, this project demonstrates how our partnership with Nuvoda is helping water companies address treatment challenges and improve the quality of water returned to the environment.

Could MOB™ be the solution for your site? Contact ACWA to discuss your treatment requirements and explore whether the technology is right for you.
