ACWA named SME of the Year

The Constructing Excellence Awards in Yorkshire and Humber are held annually and the SME of the Year category acknowledges that SMEs are the backbone of the industry and are recognised by Constructing Excellence for their dominance of and contribution to the supply chain.

The judges criteria for an SME to be outstanding was based on a number of attributes including; evidence of growth and best practice, investment in employees, actions to improve productivity and work smarter, engagement with the supply chain and performance management.

ACWA’s positivity to the changing environment throughout 2020 and the ability to be agile and productive through some challenging times is down to the proactive culture and progressive behaviours of the employees.

The judges were really impressed with ACWA’s honest approach to their entry – talking about their issues and how they overcame them to become stronger as a business!

The judge’s said, “The ACWA entry stood out in terms of the information provided, the passion communicated and at times the brutal honesty as opposed to the usual sales speak often seen.

Simon Langley, ACWA’s Managing Director said, “I am so proud of everyone who works at ACWA, without them we would never have won SME of the Year. This award reiterates how valued the team is and how hard they have worked through some difficult times to become stronger and more resilient.”
