Louay Mansour

Senior Process Engineer

Louay is a Senior Process Engineer designing water and wastewater treatment plants. He has worked for ACWA for 14 years starting in the Dubai office and now based in the UK. Working for ACWA enables Louay to develop his process engineering skills, share his experiences and continually develop.

He didn’t really choose being a process engineer as a career, it chose him! As a child he was always passionate about water and built dams filling them with water and letting them flow through small gutters.

Louay’s inspiration comes from looking for innovative new process designs, sorting out process related issues and finding solutions for clients water issues. He spends time supporting fellow engineers but feels he will have really made it when he successfully commissions a plant that he has designed.

Martin Evans

Engineering Manager

Martin Evans is the Engineering Manager at ACWA. He started his career as an apprentice within the water industry and decided engineering delivery is where he finds the greatest job satisfaction; this is because he is able to influence the way a plant is built and eventually the maintainability.

Martin’s role at ACWA is to bring together the detail design for the mechanical aspects of a project by coordinating the process, electrical and control elements. He undertakes calculations and scheduling to ensure the designs are on time, buildable and maintainable. ACWA’s suit of 3D software is used to generate models to provide clash detection and generate drawings and schedules to be able to safely build the projects.

Improving the environment is something Martin is passionate about and he finds that being able to address this within project designs very satisfying. The ability to take a project to its ultimate operation whilst being able to determine how you deliver the project is empowering and gives him job satisfaction.

In his leisure time Martin, helps with the running of his local rugby club and when not at the club he enjoys spending time touring the great outdoors with his wife.
