World Suicide Prevention Day 2023

World Suicide Prevention Day is 10 September. It is an opportunity to raise awareness of suicide, the steps we can take to prevent it, and help reduce the stigma surrounding it.

We know that in 2021, there were 6,319 suicides, of which 507 were in construction alone. We also know that workers in construction were at some of the highest risk of suicide in the UK, at 3.7 times higher than the national average.

Everyone needs to come together to reduce suicide. Suicide is preventable through education and intervention.

Mental Health First Aid England have created a poster that we can all share throughout our workplaces or wherever you feel is relevant and might make a difference.
