MOB™ Mobile Organic Biofilm

MOB™ Explained

The following three videos show the different aspects of the patented MOB™ process.

Benefits of the MOB™ Process include:

  • A 'no build' solution which gives increased treatment capacity within the existing asset footprint
  • Discharge consents are met by reducing nutrient levels resulting in energy and chemical savings
  • Significantly improved settlement performance reduces the risk of washouts
  • Minimal mixing and aeration requirements reduce energy when compared to other fixed film and granular sludge technologies
  • BNR with improved settling reduce the need for polymers, coagulants and phosphorus precipitation technologies, reducing overall capital and chemical cost
  • BNR with up to 30-60% additional biological phosphorus reduction
  • Improves sludge dewatering, significantly reducing chemical and tanker costs
  • Simple, rapid deployment leading to reductions in costs and programme time

In finding the best solutions we look at innovative ideas and turn them into reality producing some of the most sustainable technological solutions on the market.

MOB™ enabled configurations

  • Activated sludge
  • Five stage bardenpho
  • Aeration lagoon
  • Sequencing batch reactors
  • The patented MOB™ process utilizes a renewable lignocellulosic fibre, grown, harvested, and processed as a medium for biofilm growth. The fibre core is machined down to 500 microns in size, serving as a backbone for aerobic granular sludge growth. The BioMedia is fully mobile, circulating throughout the process providing process intensification.
