Designing Scraper Bridges
ACWA has been developing the design of a large diameter scraper bridge product that will be retrofitted into an existing concrete settlement tank. We’ve been using Inventor for some time to develop these types of designs and underpin our EN1090 certification.
We are utilising the stress analysis tools to great effect on these and other products to ensure we deliver a structurally sound product. The software is only as good at the engineering team though and we are proud that our guys can make Inventor ‘sing’.
The heat map picture shows the deflections are well within the design code but highlight areas for improvement with some simple modifications to the design.
