About Us

INTRODUCTION

ACWA Services Ltd is a process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (MEICA) engineering company providing a design and build service for air, water and wastewater treatment systems. It is a private British company and is a subsidiary of Consolidated Contractors International (UK) Ltd. ACWA operates throughout the whole of the UK, the Middle East and other overseas countries.

Having the necessary experience and the ability to be independent in the selection of the best process and equipment for each scheme allows ACWA to provide clients with the most appropriate and cost-effective solution to meet their requirements.

ACWA have an integrated team of dedicated professionals with an unparalleled level of expertise which enables the company to undertake projects ranging from hundreds of thousands up to several millions of pounds.

ACWA has successfully completed numerous contracts for many internationally well know "Blue Chip" companies including most of the Water PLCs.

From the company's headquarters in Skipton which is on the edge of the Dales National Park, ACWA operates throughout the country and has wide representation through agents and sister group companies in various European, Asian and African countries which enables the company to service its multi-national clients.

Water and wastewater treatment systems are supplied to both municipal and industrial clients and include a variety of different technologies. Wastewater treatment systems comprise both aerobic and anaerobic processes.

Partnering is a method that ACWA has used several times to the mutual benefit of the client and the company. It avoids the adversarial aspects common with the usual forms of contract, and by forming a team with the client ensures that the client receives what he wants at the right price and on time. By working together the project is properly scoped, defined, feasibility determined, innovation considered, value engineered, specification optimised and the project is harmoniously progressed to its completion. Both parties share in the pain and the gain. The performance would be measured through Key Performance Indicators such as time, cost, quality, innovation, safety record, reporting, relations and environmental awareness.

COMPUTERISATION

Computerisation is part of ACWA's commitment to implement the latest technology in data processing. The systems implemented and utilised range from simple word processing to the most sophisticated computer aided design software. All computers within the company are connected through a duty and standby network.

The latest issues of Autocad are used for producing drawings, ensuring efficient operation and neat presentation. Bills of materials along with all the related specifications are automatically extracted from the drawings and presented in custom built reports.

Hydraulic analyses and process calculations are generated using in-house written programmes. Projects are planned, budgeted and monitored through the aid of computer management systems and Hazop studies are conducted using a proprietary software package.

Instant access to drawings and project engineering details are available worldwide using ACWA's computer communication facility.

OPERATION CONTRACTS

ACWA has contracts for the operation and maintenance of both water and effluent treatment plants. This work is carried out by ACWA employees adequately qualified and trained for each contract. These contracts involve the responsibility for producing treated water/effluent suitable for discharge to supply mains or to receiving streams and include all operational costs.

OVERSEAS MARKETS

Building on its U.K. reputation, ACWA is winning contracts in Europe, the Middle East and Asia for air, water and effluent treatment plants including projects for some of the world's largest multi-national companies.

ACWA's success in these markets is such that about 50% of the sales in 2003 came from the export sector.
